Government of Canada Celebrates Local Athlete with Prince George Community

-  Today, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of State (Sport), Dick Harris, federal representative for Cariboo-Prince George, joined Mayor Dan Rogers in congratulating local Olympic biathlete, Megan Tandy. 

“Megan, we want to congratulate you for all the sacrifices you’ve made, for the  milestones you've met and will meet in the weeks ahead,” said MP Harris.

City officials and local businesses gathered at the Carney Subaru Dealership to congratulate and wish PG’s Megan Tandy success at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Harris told Megan that the community is proud of her accomplishments, and that the whole country will be cheering her on as she helps to make the 2010 Olympics “Canada’s Games”.

Later this week, Prince George will take part in an unforgettable Olympic experience by welcoming the Olympic Flame as it travels its remaining journeys throughout the province.  The Government has invested $22.5 million to ensure that communities like Prince George can join in the excitement and thrill of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.
