Congratulations to Williams Lake's own Rick Hansen on receiving an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree from our newest University in the Cariboo Prince George Riding.

There is no one more deserving of this honour for his continued contribution and achievements in spinal cord research.

The Man in Motion tour, in itself was a great feat, but the continued involvement and continuing with his dream of finding a cure for spinal cord injuries is even more impressive.

It is also exciting to have another university in my riding of Cariboo Prince George and I congratulate all those involved in the project and to assist the residents of the region in being able to upgrade or continue their post secondary education closer to home.

For our region the inclusion of the trades at this new University is also a huge asset for those needing to further their training and can now do it without the greater expense of living elsewhere while attending university.

Congratulations to all.
